Married Quarters Cleaning Scheme

A new Married Quarter Cleaning Scheme (MQCS) service is now available as an alternative to self-cleaning quarters before they are vacated.

The MQCS will be explained to householders at the pre-move out point by your Housing Estate Manager (HEM). At the same time, the HEM will tell you what you need to do to get the property to the standard to use the MQCS system. Occupants who have already had pre-move visits or are moving later in the summer as part of rebasing will receive information from the Central Region Housing Officer.

Protecting children is your responsibility too….

What can you do?

Most children enjoy happy childhood experiences within their own family. Unfortunately, for some this is not the case. During difficult family times everyone has a responsibility to protect children from harm.

What is harm?
Harm is ill treatment or child abuse. Here are some examples:

Emotional abuse – may involve making a child constantly feel worthless or unloved, frightened or in danger.

Sexual abuse – is when a child is made to take part in or watch sexual activities: or they may be around when someone is looking at pornographic material.

Neglect – a child is left alone, not fed or clothed properly, the home is cold or dirty or a child is not protected from danger.

Physical abuse – could be any physical injury like cuts, bruises, scalds or broken bones that have not happened by accident.

What should I do if I think a child is being harmed?

Telephone British Forces Social Work services straight away on Tel: 05241 84 3039 or 3040 or RMP BFG CRIMELINE on Tel: 08001 84 2222 – they will listen.

Who can drive a BFG Registered vehicle?

BFG VLO is often asked who, apart from BFG Personnel, can drive a BFG Registered vehicle? The following rules outline who you can permit to drive your BFG Registered vehicle and under what circumstances.

BFG Personnel are not to permit any person to whom BFG Standing Orders do not apply to drive a BFG Vehicle. BFG Standing Orders apply to the Service Personnel and Civilians Subject to Service Discipline (CSSD), The Force, who may therefore drive a BFG registered vehicle for which they are insured.

There are however, certain circumstances where a BFG registered vehicle can be driven by anybody who is insured, listed below:

Church House Facitilies

Church House Shield
Church House in Lübbecke offers great conference facilities and is a perfect venue to support residential training sessions for a wide range of military and civilian courses.
There is a highly reliable Wi-Fi Internet coverage throughout the House and two purpose built classrooms each with audio-visual equipment.  It is a great base from which to explore the history of the area, and has a mini-museum, which tells the history of the House, from its beginnings as a training school and Hitler Youth Hostel, built by the National Socialist Party of Westphalia between 1937-1938.

Sports and Recreation
Courses on offer include a 20 checkpoint Orienteering Course over challenging forest terrain. There is top of the range archery equipment, soft air target pistol shooting, a fitness suite and a brand new cardiovascular training room, mountain biking, tennis, pool and snooker and authority has been granted to have a children's club room and play area.
If you would like to stay overnight, there are 52 beds, including a self catering luxury flat, available for use by service families and the downstairs VIP rooms are each equipped with satellite television. Church House is renowned for its catering and bar facilities, which offer extremely competitive rates.

Church House still offers the best venue for any residential training in BFG and bookings are now being taken from military groups in the UK. It will be open until at least December 2017. Unfortunately all weekend bookings for 2016 have been filled, but there are still plenty of spaces during the week.  Details are available from the Courses Clerk at Church House by phoning 05741 20389.
