· Life-size replica of the Parthenon made of 100,000 banned books donated by members of the public.
· It is comprised of 170 vintage and contemporary titles banned somewhere around the world.
· The aim is to provoke debate around the subject of censorship.
· It is constructed at the site where German Nazis burned books by Jewish or Marxist writers in 1933.
The installation is the centre piece of this year's Documenta 14 exhibition in Kassel, which runs for 100 days and showcases contemporary art.
The exhibit is open until 17th September 2017 and is open from 1000 - 2000hrs daily in Friedrichplatz in Kasell. An Adult day ticket is €20 and children are free under 10 years. Tickets can be purchased at the Documenta14 shops or online on the following link.
